What: A salute to Ron Stork for his 30 years of service to rivers and Friends of the River.

When: August 22nd from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Why: Fun! The evening will bring together food, friends, and kick-off our endowment fundraising efforts!

A generous donor has offered a challenge donation of $30,000 to help perpetuate Ron’s work in river advocacy, if we can raise $30,000 in matching funds.  This challenge is to launch the Ron Stork River-Advocate Legacy Fund.

This endowment fund is to support Ron’s river advocacy position at FOR.  The long term goal is building a $1 million+ endowment and now we can begin that journey.

Your ticket purchase will help us meet that goal, and your presence will help us show Ron how much his hard work means to river lovers across the state. The endowment will be managed by the Place Community Foundation.  The endowed fund’s principal will not be spent and will grow over time, providing a source of lasting support.

The cost of maintaining free flowing rivers is eternal vigilance and advocacy.

Can’t make it to the party? You can still support this effort by donating to the endowment fund. Your gift will be matched $1 for $1 up the $30,000 in matching funds. Please use the donate now button below to make a contribution.
