Growing up in the Central Valley of California and the daughter of an avid fly-fisherman, rivers and an awareness of water issues have always been a constant in my life. Through studying environmental science and work in environmental education that love for rivers and awareness of threats only grew
While my experiences in environmental education have been powerful in helping inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, I’ve also realized the need to become an advocate for more immediate and needed changes in our environmental policies and actions.
I believe that the RATS program will help me develop a deeper understanding and stronger voice to begin advocating and fighting for the protection of California’s valuable water resources and communities that depend on them.
